Garage Door Repair · Cameron County
Rio Hondo sits on the Arroyo Colorado just east of Harlingen — usually about 15 minutes from the shop. The waterway keeps the air damp, which is tough on cables and springs, and it's a quick trip for us to fix.
Rio Hondo takes its name from its spot on the Arroyo Colorado — the Lower Valley's only natural waterway besides the Rio Grande itself. It sits on Harlingen's northeastern edge, about nine miles out FM 508, so it's a quick trip for us, usually around 15 minutes. For an emergency like a broken spring, that short distance means we can often be there the same afternoon.
The arroyo that gives Rio Hondo its character also keeps the local air humid, and damp, salt-tinged air is exactly what corrodes garage door hardware. Cables rust from the inside, springs pit, and steel rollers seize. On doors here — especially near the water — we fit galvanized springs and sealed-bearing nylon rollers built to take the moisture.
A lot of what we replace is corrosion-driven: rusted cables and rollers and pitted springs, plus the off-track doors those failures lead to. Rio Hondo also has a good share of older homes, so we do plenty of tune-ups to keep long-standing doors running quietly. Every job is quoted before we touch the door.
